Yesterday was rather eventful. Adelaine & I planned to meet at Bugis at 11 to do some (window) shopping before heading to church. When I was in the train nearing Bugis, Adelaine suddenly realized that she was supposed to meet me on that day itself, not on Saturday! She reached Bugis about one and a half hours later than planned & I had to walk around Bugis like a loner while waiting for her :)
We walked around for a bit before going for lunch. We saw this Thai place & decided to go in to eat. There was this banner outside advertising for their $3.90 set lunches that looked YUMMY :) When we got a table, we realized that the set lunches were only from 2-5 pm and the other stuff on the menu were kinda ex. We both didn't want to spend all our $ eating, so we ran off when the waiter wasn't looking! Settled for LONG JOHN'S eventually.
Bugis street had lots of cute & cheap tees that were ONE FOR $12, TWO FOR $20. Adelaine was tempting me to buy with her but as I said, I was PURELY WINDOW SHOPPING! :) I managed to exercise self-control this time. I feel so accomplished 'cause I didn't buy a single thing!
We got to church an hour late! When we reached the stairway, we saw the EVIL BLACK DOG lying on the floor & jumped. We were like, OMG! We didn't dare to walk pass the dog in case it awakes suddenly & bites us or sth. Then BINGO! We thought of a brill idea :) We called Daren who was upstairs to come down and chase the dog away for us, but all he did was tease us. In the end we bravely went up the stairs, & the dog didn't even bother looking at us.
Daren, Charles, Abacus, Serena & her boyfriend were already hard at work. First, we helped Daren with the leaves of the tree. Then, we helped to draw and cut grass! Halfway thru, Daren went to seven eleven to buy YAKULT for us :) Damn, I was supposed to boycott Yakult! Vitagen is so much nicer right? Apparently Serena & Daren (& Abacus) like Yakult too. What's the world coming to?! Abacus was telling us about how he was the only person in class who failed art in sec two! LOSERRR. But the pillars he made look so nice! Maybe his art teacher was jealous of his artistic talent & failed him :)
After that, Abacus asked Adelaine & I to help him construct a pyramid using cardboard. That was a total nightmare, omg. We had to use PYTHAGORAS to calculate length of the sides! Of course there were lots of calculations involved and we died trying to square 19.25. After we finally finished, brain dead, Daren said that he had a calculator in his bag!
Trying to cut cardboard was quite tough too, considering that I have penknife-phobia. I've cut myself a few times before /: Serena's boyfriend was nice and offered to help. Charles helped to cut triangles & our pyramid turned out really, really gorgeous! Abacus even spray-painted it GOLD. How glam :)
Oh yes, Shalene & Corinne were busy sewing the sea together while Daren Yap lazed around and slept on the poor fluffy cotton clouds!
Alvin & Nicole came at 6+, after work. Adelaine & I left soon after they arrived. Met my mum at Bugis to shop for her GIFT EXCHANGE PRESENT for her colleague :) Chose something nice at Body Shop before going home.
